Cars

Volume 01

The looks.

The sounds.

The stories they tell of the people behind the wheel.

I love it all.

The looks. The sounds. The personal expression. From fully stock to fully custom fabrication. I love the community. I love the variety of people and their creations or their brand new $50,000 over MSRP trendiest newest purchase that will only be driven to the car show to let us know that they are the coolest kid on the block.

Immaculate paint jobs, deteriorating body work, revived and reimagined. From perpetual project cars that never drive further than two blocks from the garage without breaking, to immaculate one-of-one multimillion dollar creations that reach 200 mph while sipping a macchiato. I love them all.

I love the people inside the cars. From the ultra wealthy snooty pageantry to the blue collar, cigarette in mouth and grease soaked hands using zip-ties and duct tape as the solution for every issue. The 16 year old in a beater with a smile that rivals the Cheshire Cat becomes the crotchety old man that can finally afford his dream car that would make his 16 year old self proud. The car community encompasses the full spectrum of human expression. True car people have their preferences, but they appreciate the entirety of the car world.

Cars are an extension of us, whether that was thoughtfully crafted or curated or a nonchalant uninterested purchase. Our cars reveal a part of ourselves.

I love cars, but what I really love are the people they represent.
